City Pages That Are Actually About The City

You need them if you rank in the town your office is in and disappear one town over. You need them if your service area is a comma separated list on your contact page. And you need them if you tried city pages already and they did not work, which almost always means they were the same page with the town name swapped.

That version is worse than nothing. Google’s own spam policies name scaled content abuse, which is pages generated to manipulate rankings rather than to help anybody, and templated pages with the town swapped are exactly that. The customer notices too. If your page about their town says nothing that is actually true about their town, it reads exactly like what it is.
